Team Captain (1992-1994)
During his career at St. Mary’s, Peter Palacios set the precedent for excellence in both academics and athletics. He demonstrated his expertise on the course by winning the NAIA District IV title in 1992 and 1993. He also won two individual titles, the St. Mary’s Invitational at the Dominion Country Club and the Samons Park Invitational, and was a runner up in the Elkins Lake Invitational. As a senior, he was named Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year and was a three-time Most Valuable Golfer Award recipient. He was also named All-District three times, was team captain all three years of his career and was a NAIA National Collegiate Golf Tournament participant his junior and senior years.
Off the course, Palacios was a two-time recipient of the Kappa Sigma Outstanding Scholar award and made the National Dean’s List in 1993.
After his time as a Rattler, he played professionally in several events and become the head golf pro at the Laredo Country Club.
