Midfielder (1986-1989)
Michael Livermore anchored the St. Mary’s soccer team as a freshman, and in his first season, the team boldly captured the NAIA District IV Big State Conference Championship with an 11-8-1 (5-1 in district) record.
Livermore, who quickly earned a starting position at midfield as a freshman, became co-team captain in his sophomore and junior years, finishing third on the team in scoring as a junior when St. Mary’s posted a 13-4-1 record, earning a Heart of Texas Conference First Team selection.
Appearing to save his best for last, Livermore earned the role as the squad’s sole team captain his senior year, leading the Rattlers in scoring with 15 goals. He earned Heart of Texas Conference First Team as a senior and was chosen for the NCAA/NAIA State Collegiate All-Star Classic soccer game in January 1990. Livermore graduated from St. Mary’s in 1990 with a B.B.A. in marketing.
After graduating from St. Mary’s, Livermore’s fervor for the game of soccer led him to play the sport he loves at a semi-professional level, winning the South Florida Open Men’s Championship in 1998 with the Barclays men’s team. He also tried out for the Miami Fusion of Major League Soccer.
