From tennis and men’s soccer assistant coach to Director of Athletics, Charlie Migl has worn a lot of hats around St. Mary’s University, but he shone on the diamond, spending four years as a player, five as an assistant coach and 35 as the head coach. His 1,246 victories rank him fourth all-time in Division II history and 30th regardless of Division. He led the Rattlers to the 2001 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship, as well as nine other appearances in either the NAIA or NCAA Postseason Tournaments. His student-athletes earned 197 All-Conference awards in the three leagues in which he coached, and he saw 25 drafted in the MLB Draft. In 11 of his 35 seasons, the team won 40 or more games, and 29 times the club won at least 30 contests. As a student-athlete, Migl was a two-time All-District selection and was named an Honorable Mention All-American as a junior.

Quote:
“Most of my adult life, I’ve been at St. Mary’s and my children all graduated from St. Mary’s, which is special. I’ve met so many great people, players and coaches during my time and for me to go into the Hall of Fame just makes it more special. I thank St. Mary’s for giving me the opportunity.”
