9/28/2026 7:57:00 PM

DALLAS — St. Mary's University senior Taylor Wilczek broke the school record for career rounds in the 60s and is tied for the individual lead after two rounds at the DBU Classic, helping the 11th-ranked Rattlers to a tie for third place with top-ranked and host, DBU.

No. 4 Barry leads the field by one stroke (+8) over No. 3 Anderson (+9), while the No. 1 Patriots and Rattlers are four shots off the lead (+12).

The Rattlers made up some ground in the second round, combining to shoot a tournament low 285 (-3), thanks in part to a scorching round of 66 by Wilczek (Anthem, Ariz.). She birdied three of her final four holes and had eight birdies in the round, and is tied atop the individual leaderboard at -4 with Tereza Zavrelova from Barry.

It is the 10th round of Wilczek's career at St. Mary's that she's shot in the 60s, breaking the school record of nine by Maria Regina Gonzalez from 2015-19. Wilczek also moves into a tie for fifth in school history with 23 rounds of par or better, knotting former teammate Libby Kilbride (2022-25).

Sophomore Manon Verret (Toulouse, France) also had a great second round, firing a 70, and she sits in a three-way tie for seventh place at even par (74-70=144).

Junior Brielle Burns (Houston) took two strokes off her morning round to move into a tie for 24th place with a two-round total of 152 (77-75), while junior Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) is one shot behind Burns with 153 strokes (78-75).

Lefebvre has the tournament's only eagle so far, as she shot a three on the par-5 10th hole in the first round.

Junior Sophia Perkins (Sydney, Australia) had the biggest turnaround on the team. After struggling with an 83 in the morning, Perkins regrouped to fire a 74 in the afternoon to climb into a tie for 41st place with 157 strokes.

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday at the Dallas Athletic Club. Tee times were not available at the time of this release.
