Dallas (Dallas Athletic Club)

•    The St. Mary's Women's Golf team continues the fall season at the DBU Classic at the Dallas Athletic Club on Monday and Tuesday.

•    The Rattlers were ranked No. 11 in the first poll of the year by the WGCA. StMU received 254 points and is nine points outside the top 10. DBU collected first-place votes and ranks first with 475 points.

•    Senior Taylor Wilczek tied for second at the DBU WinStar Invitational to kick off the 2026-27 season. She tied for the lowest round of the tournament, firing a four-under 68 in the final round to jump four places. She shot 213 (73-72-68) over the three days. 

•    Junior Sabree Lefebvre shot a career-low round of 69 in the final round of the WinStar Invitational, posting her first career round in the 60s. 

•    Taylor Wilczek tied the school record with nine career rounds in the 60s. She ties Maria Regina Gonzalez, who shot nine rounds in the 60s during her career (2015-2019).

•    St. Mary's also finished second at the first tournament of the year, finishing the three-day tournament with 874 strokes (295-296-283/+10), ending 18 shots off the lead by DBU (29-277-289=856/-8), and ahead of third-place West Texas A&M and Midwestern State by 16 strokes (890).

•    The field for the DBU Classic features a loaded field with teams from #3 Anderson (SC), #4 Barry, #RV Cal State East Bay, #6 Cal State San Marcos, #RV Central Missouri, #RV Central Oklahoma, host #1 DBU, Henderson State, #23 Midwestern State, North Georgia, #20 Saint Leo, #11 St. Mary's, UT Permian Basin and #15 UT Tyler.

•    The Rattlers lineup is 1) Taylor Wilczek, 2) Sabree Lefebvre, 3) Sophia Perkins, 4) Brielle Burns, and 5) Manon Verret.

•    The weather in Dallas is forecast to be mostly sunny both days with highs around 90. There is a 10-15% chance of rain with humidity in the high 50s-low 60s with wind around 10 mph.

•    The Rattlers have been ranked for 21 consecutive polls by the WGCA, dating back to the 2023-24 season. The highest-ever ranking by StMU is No. 5 in the first poll of the 2021-22 season.

•    A season ago, Taylor Wilczek had an amazing run to end the year, shooting a school record round of 64 in the semifinals of the Lone Star Championship. She went on to finish in the top-10 at the NCAA Regional and then finished stroke play as the national runner-up at the NCAA Championship after carding a 216. She was named a WGCA First-Team All-American for her efforts. Her five rounds in the 60s ties the school record for most in a season, knotting Libby Kilbride from 2024-25.

•    Sophomore Brielle Burns was named the Lone Star Newcomer of the Year and to the All-Conference Second Team, while Taylor Wilczek was honored on the First Team, and both were voted to the five-member All-Academic team. Burns became the first golfer to win an individual honor since the team joined the Lone Star.

•    The Rattlers added only one player to the roster for 2026-27 in sophomore Audrey McIntyre. McIntyre joins StMU from Bowling Green State after attending Lake Travis High School alongside men's golfers Elijah Galvan and Connor Smith.
