SAN ANTONIO — Senior standout
Kongpop Kaikaew joins an elite list at St. Mary's University, becoming the first-ever Men's Golfer to be named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Division II at-large team.
The association announced the teams on Wednesday, and Kaikaew (Rayong, Thailand) was voted to the Third Team after having a stellar senior season on the links. He was recently named a Third-Team All-American by the GCAA, finished in the top 25 in eight of the 10 tournaments he played and placed in the top 10 six times. The Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Year collected nine rounds in the 60s in the 29 he completed and had 18 rounds of par or better. He won two tournaments in his final season and holds the school individual low round record of 62, earning a degree in marketing in May.
Kaikaew is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection, and he is the 14th Rattler to be named to the elite team.
The at-large team includes student-athletes from the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling for men. Six members of the Academic All-America® Division II at-large teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate or graduate work. The 18 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.92, with the entire 45-man team combining for a 3.85 GPA.
