RICHARDSON, Texas — The Lone Star Conference announced the 35 student-athletes honored as the 2026 Scholar-Athlete Award winners on Tuesday, and St. Mary's University graduates
Courtney McClellan and
Luke Mulkey were named.
Each academic year, the conference presents a Scholar-Athlete Award to one male and one female student-athlete from each LSC institution's graduating class. Award recipients are selected by their campus and represent outstanding accomplishments in scholarship, athletics, and leadership. Honorees must have participated in their sport for at least two years.
McClellan, part of the inaugural recruiting class for STUNT, wrapped up a stellar career for the Rattlers, where she was a three-time All-Conference honoree. The New Braunfels, Texas native, was a First-Team All-Conference selection in 2024 and a two-time Second-Team pick in both 2025 and 2026. She graduated with a degree in criminology after earning Lone Star All-Academic honors twice and the Lone Star Athlete of the Week award twice in her career. She is also only the second-ever student-athlete from STUNT to earn LSC Scholar-Athlete honors, joining Laurel Jones from Texas Woman's in 2024.
Mulkey, who joined the Rattlers from Parker, Texas, was named to the CSC Academic All-District team each of the last three years, was a two-time All-Lone Star Conference selection, and was the league's Defensive Player of the Year in 2024, earning D2CCA All-Region honors that year. He earned his bachelor's degree in management last month and was an eight-time member of the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll. He is the fourth different Men's Soccer player to earn Scholar-Athlete honors in the seven years the Rattlers have been members of the league, joining Alain Peralt (2021),
Deni Cresto (2022 & 2023), and Cian Foley (2024).
