SAN ANTONIO — For the second-straight season, the St. Mary's University Department of Athletics finished 98th in the annual NACDA Learfield Directors' Cup.

The Rattlers earned 50 points in the winter with Men's Basketball, and 175.25 in the spring with 50 points from Baseball, 73 from Women's Golf, 15 from Men's Golf, and 37.25 from Softball after all four teams reached the postseason. The 225.25 points are the most since the 2022-23 team scored 241.50 points and the seventh-most since 2003-04.

"I want to thank our coaches and student-athletes for the passion they have for competition," said Executive Director of Athletics from the annual NACDA Convention in Las Vegas. "We had a very solid winter and spring season, and to be inside the top 100 schools once again is a testament to all of our teams' hard work."

The annual program that honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's. Began in 1993-94 for Division I by NACDA and USA Today, it was expanded in 1995-96 to include Division II, III and the NAIA, and, in 2011-12, expanded to the Junior/Community Colleges. For Division II, 15 sports are counted, four of which must be men's and women's basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Points are awarded to institutions that advance to the NCAA Championships.

The Rattlers finished seventh among the 18 Lone Star Conference institutions, with West Texas A&M placing fourth in Division II with 737.75 points.

"The Director's Cup continues to be a great measuring stick for the competitive success of our program and will assist us once again in aligning our goals for the upcoming season," said Coleman.
