SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's University Executive Director of Athletics
Robert Coleman announces the change of two staff members within the department of athletics.
Kaitlin Teniente will transition from Director of Esports to Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications following Matthew Comuzzie's departure, while
Peter Alva will become the Interim Head Coach of Esports.
Teniente has been the Director of Esports since the program's inception in 2020. She has led all five teams to the postseason (Call of Duty, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League and Valorant) and has shown a strong propensity for fundraising, marketing and creative content, which she will continue to do for the entire department. In her new role, Teniente will lead the charge on marketing and game-day efforts, as well as broadcasting and social media.
Alva, who was a student-athlete for Teniente and has been an assistant coach for the past two seasons after graduating, moves into the role of Head Coach on an interim basis. He is already known for his strong leadership and recruiting abilities and is expected to continue the strong tradition of successful Esports teams.
