ROCKWALL, Texas — The No. 13 St. Mary's University Men's Golf team didn't let 40-mile-per-hour gusts of wind slow them down on Tuesday, as the team shot a 284 (-4) in the final round to win the DBU Classic, ending the fall season with two tournament titles in four tournaments.

The Rattlers finished the tournament nine-under-par, defeating No. 6 Central Oklahoma for the second time. StMU shot 278, 293 and 284 over the three rounds (855/-9), beating the Bronchos by eight strokes (863/-1), after entering the third round tied for second and trailing UCO by two strokes.

All five Rattlers entered in the team format placed in the top 20 for the first time this season, and the first time since the Battle at Riverhill (April 7-8, 2025), where all five finished in the top 15.

Senior Kongpop Kaikaew (Rayong, Thailand) continued his stellar season, tying for individual medalist honors with TCU's Lewis Wright, who was competing as an individual. Wright did win the one-hole playoff between the two golfers. Kaikaew once again posted all three rounds below par (69-69-71) to finish with 209 (-7) strokes. He's entered the clubhouse under par in nine of 11 rounds this fall and has been in the 60s six times.

Sophomore Elijah Galvan (Austin, Texas) fired a season-low 69 in the final round to jump 20 spots on the leaderboard, finishing tied for 12th with a 218 (74-75-69/+2). Fellow sophomore Guillaume Paquette (La Minerve, Quebec) also climbed in the final standings, shooting a 70 over the final 18 holes to tie for 16th (77-72-70=219/+3) place.

Senior Baptiste Touchard (Saint-Agathon, France) and junior Philip Hallström (Gävle, Sweden) tied for 19th place with identical scores of 220.

Freshman Lewie Melton (Fredericksburg, Texas) ended the first tournament of his collegiate career in 72nd place after carding a 236 (78-78-80/+20).

The Rattlers led the field in both par-4 and par-5 scoring and were third on par-3 holes. The team combined to sink 48 birdies and 167 pars over the three rounds, while Kaikaew nailed both eagles.

St. Mary's will begin the spring portion of its season Feb. 9-10 at the 2026 Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla., hosted at the St. John's Golf & Country Club.
