DUNCAN, Okla. – The St. Mary's University Men's Golf team finished in fourth place at the Hrnciar Invitational after shooting a one-under par 287 in the final round on Tuesday.
The Rattlers shot a three-round total of 853 (286-280-287) to finish eight shots behind champion Pittsburg State (845), and just two shots behind Midwestern State in second place (851) and one shot behind UT Permian Basin in third (852).
Freshman
Daniel Levy (Johannesburg, South Africa) moved up two spots in the final round into a tie for fifth place after having an extremely consistent tournament where he shot 70 in each of the three rounds. In the third round Levy posted three birdies, one bogey and 14 pars for the best finish to his young collegiate career.
Fellow freshman
Matthew Lewis (Arlington, Texas) ended in a two-way tie for ninth place, ending the tournament with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. He finished the tournament four-under-par with 212 strokes (72-68-72).
Junior
Zach Seader (Bulverde, Texas), golfing as an individual, climbed 10 spots up the leaderboard during the final round, shooting a 73 on Tuesday to finish even with 216 strokes (71-72-73) and tied for 18th place, while senior Philip Hallstrom (Gavle, Sweden) was one shot behind him to finish tied for 25th place at 217 (70-71-76).
Freshman
Fabrizio De Abreu (Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa) posted a three-day total of 220 (74-71-75) to end in a tie for 42nd place, and junior
Elijah Galvan (Austin, Texas) saved his best round of the tournament for last, bouncing 18 spots up the leaderboard with a 70 to end tied for 52nd place with 222 strokes (77-75-70).
The Rattlers head to Florida next week to compete in the Copperhead Championship in Palm Harbor beginning on Monday.
