No. 13 Men's Golf Finishes Dewsweeper in 11th Place

SAN ANTONIO — The No. 13 St. Mary's University Men's Golf team hosted the inaugural Dewsweeper Invitational at TPC San Antonio and finished the tournament in 11th place on Tuesday.
 
Cal State San Bernardino jumped four places in the final 18 holes to win the team trophy with a four-under-par score of 860, defeating Arkansas Tech by three strokes. Southern Arkansas' Luke Cote shot even par on Tuesday to maintain a five-shot lead and win the individual crown with 205 strokes (11-under). His 65 in the second round is the tournament record for low round.
 
Freshman Matthew Lewis (Arlington, Texas) was the top Rattler finisher, tying for 25th place with a three-day total of 220 (72-73-75/+4).
 
Senior Philip Hallström (Gävle, Sweden) and junior Elijah Galvan (Austin, Texas) ended in a tie for 34th position after turning in totals of 223. Hallström shot 75-74-74, while Galvan went 75-70-78 to both finish seven-over-par.
 
Freshman Daniel Levy (Johannesburg, South Africa) matched his second round total, firing a 73 in the final round to end tied for 44th with 226 strokes (80-73-73/+10), and fellow South African freshman Fabrizio De Abreu (Pretoria, Gauteng) concluded his first career tournament in 57th place with 231 strokes (78-74-79/+15).
 
The Rattlers have three weeks between competitions, returning to the links on Oct. 5-6 for the annual Hrnciar Invitational, hosted by Cameron in Duncan, Okla.
