DALLAS, Texas – In the final round of the DBU Women's Classic, the St. Mary's University Women's Golf team was able to break the tie from the previous two days and finish alone in third place.
The Rattlers shot an even-par 288 on Tuesday to end four-over for the tournament at 868 (289-291-288) behind DBU (-11) and UT Tyler (E).Â
Senior
Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England) paced the Gold and Blue with her fifth-place finish at three-under-par (71-70-72=213). It is the first time in her career she's carded all three rounds of a tournament at par or better and only the fourth to do so in St. Mary's history, joining
Savannah Dupre,
Rebecca Reed (twice) and Sofia Ruescas. Kilbride's 213 ties for the fifth-best 54-hole tournament total in school history.
The low round of the day honors went to sophomore
Taylor Wilczek (Anthem, Ariz.) after she turned in a 70. The transfer had only one hole over par in the final round to end the tournament even-par with a 216 (75-71-70) and tie for 14th place.
Senior
Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland) equaled her opening round total by carding a 73 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 23rd place with her three-round total of 220 (73-74-73).Â
Fellow senior
Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio) improved each round, firing a 73 on day three to jump eight spots in the standings to 54th place with a final total of 230 (81-76-73).
Sophomore
Savannah Dupre (Boerne, Texas) finished tied for 46th with her three-day total of 227 (70-78-79).
The Rattlers head west for the WT Regional Preview on Monday, Sept. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 1.
