THACKERVILLE, Okla. — The St. Mary's University Women's Golf team finished just outside the threshold for advancing to medal match play at the Lone Star Conference Championship, placing fifth with a 54-hole total of 886.

Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England) started the final round strong, recording three birdies in her first eight holes. She ended the day with an even-par round of 72 to tie for 13th place. Her three-day total of 217 is her second-lowest 54-hole total of the year, trailing only the 215 she shot when she finished second at the Rattler Invitational.

Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) finished one stroke behind Kilbride in a tie for 15th-place at 218 (74-69-75). Sophomore
Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland) matched her opening round score with a 76 on Tuesday for a three-round tally of 225 (76-73-76) to tie for 32nd.

Estelle Beck-Dixon (Lakway, Texas) and junior
Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio) finished with 231 strokes in a tie for 47th. Dixons shot a 76 on the final day, while Trevino shot an 80.Â

DBU, the number one team in the nation, won the team title by one stroke, edging out West Texas A&M. Those two teams, along with Oklahoma Christian and Midwestern State advance to the medal match play rounds.

Julia Garcia, the league's Player of the Year from DBU, won the individual crown with her three-round total of 208 (70-67-71). She held off OC's Sofia Benavides, who ended with a 209 (72-67-70).

The NCAA West Super Regional takes place May 6-8 at the Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif. The Rattlers await word to see if they qualify for their eighth consecutive trip to the 12-team field.
