FRISCO, Texas – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its fall watchlists for the Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride and the PING WGCA Player of the Year and St. Mary's University Women's Golf appears on both lists.

Connor McCarthy, the Director of Golf, is one of nine coaches – and four from the Lone Star Conference – among the watchlist that highlights excellence throughout the year and recognizes those who have made an early impact on their teams and across the collegiate landscape. McCarthy is in his fourth year as head coach of the Rattlers and he has led each team to at least one top-10 finish at the NCAA Tournament, including the women's team finishing as the NCAA Runner Up in 2024 and a third-place finish in stroke play a year ago.

The Rattlers are currently ranked third in both the WGCA and Scorecard polls, the highest-ever ranking for the Gold and Blue, and the women finished in the top three at all four fall tournaments.

Senior Taylor Wilczek from Anthem, Ariz., is one of 21 student-athletes to appear on the PING WGCA Player of the Year Watchlist. Wilczek is currently the number-one ranked golfer in Division II and was the NCAA Runner Up a season ago. She is one of four Lone Star golfers on the watchlist.
