SAN ANTONIO — All five in the team scoring for the St. Mary's University Women's Golf team saved their best round for last at the annual Rattler Invitational at the Dominion Country Club, posting the lowest round on Tuesday.

The Rattlers ended day one 12 shots out of second place after combining to shoot 604 and came storming out to record the lowest round in the field over the final 18 holes. Junior Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England) tallied a birdie in four of her first five holes to post a 70 and tie for second place in the field.

Kilbride finished right behind individual champion Lorenza Perini (West Texas A&M) in par four scoring (+2) and was second in par five scoring (-4) behind Anna Nomrowki, also a member of the Lady Buffs roster.

Fellow senior Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) climbed five spots to tie for 14th place. She shaved five strokes off her second round, collecting two birdies in her final three holes.

Junior Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio) finished in 17th place for the highest finish of her career. It is the third time she's ended in the top 25, doing so by shooting 76, 76, 75.

Junior Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland) made the biggest move, vaulting up 15 places to finish one stroke behind Trevino after turning in a 73 on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Estelle Beck-Dixon (Lakeway, Texas) shot a 75 to climb seven spots into a tie for 20th, totaling 230 for the tournament.

Senior Maria Ferrer (Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico) competed as an individual, but caught the bug as well, shooting an 80 in the final round, four strokes better than her opening 18 of 84. She tallied a 78 in the middle round to place 45th overall.

The Rattlers led the field in par-3 scoring, averaging 3.08 per hole. They were also second with 163 pars and third with 35 birdies.

West Texas A&M won the team title, carding an 870 for the lowest 54-hole total in the tournament's 23-year history. They break the previous record of 876 by DBU in 2020. Perini also established the 54-hole record with her total of 208. She betters the previous mark of 210 from Faith DeLaGarza of DBU in 2020.

The Rattlers head to the Emerald Coast Classic in Miramar Beach, Fla., March 10-12. They then wrap up the regular season at the Desert Classic in Tucson, Ari., April 1-2.
