DENTON, Texas – Facing a loaded field for the second-straight week, the St. Mary's University Women's Golf team finished the DBU Women's Classic in a tie for fifth place.

The Rattlers came back down to Earth a little in the final round after recording an out-of-this-world round of 282 on Monday, carding a 301 on the final day to knot Midwestern State with an 875.

Freshman
Savannah Dupre (Boerne, Texas) kept the strong start to her collegiate career going, collecting an even-par 72 strokes on the final day to end the tournament in a tie for 10th place with a 215 (72-71-72). She led the team with 11 birdies over the 54 holes, which is the fifth-highest total in the field.

Senior
Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) ended in a tie for 16th place, carding a 75 on the final day to end with a 218 (73-70-75). Reed shot an even par on the par 3s and was four-under par on the par 5s.

Fellow senior
Estelle Beck (Lakeway, Texas) made par in 34 of the 54 holes throughout the tournament, tying for 24th place with her total of 221 (75-67-79). On Monday, Beck tied for the fourth-lowest round in StMU history with the 67.

Junior
Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England) led the entire tournament with 41 pars. She shaved one stroke off her Monday score to post a 75 on Tuesday and finished tied for 37th place (73-76-75=224).

Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland) ended tied for 53rd with her 229 (74-74-81). O'Leary took six full strokes from her opening week score and her 74s from the first two rounds are the lowest since she joined the Rattlers.

Top-ranked DBU and #5 Findlay tied after 54 holes, with Findlay winning a one-hole playoff. No. 15 Barry and #8 UIndy placed third and fourth, respectively with UIndy defeating the Rattlers and Mustangs by only one stroke. Olivia Deakins from Saint Leo won individual medalist honors after shooting nine-under-par 207 (67-67-73).

The Rattlers take a week off from competition, returning to the links on Oct. 2-3 at the WT Fall Invitational at the La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo.
