Rattlers See 104 Earn D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards

CLEVELAND – The Division II Athletic Directors Association announced on Thursday the 2022-23 recipients of the Academic Achievement Awards and St. Mary's University has 104 student-athletes honored on the team.
 
To be eligible for the team, student-athletes must have a 3.5 minimum grade point average (GPA), have completed at least four semesters of college and be an active member of an intercollegiate team.
 
The 104 honorees rank third-most among Lone Star Conference teams, trailing UT Tyler (130) and Lubbock Christian (119), both of which have three more sports than the Rattlers.
 
"I am very excited, once again, to see how competitively our athletic program has competed academically with our peers within the Lone Star Conference and within Division II," said Executive Director of Athletics Robert Coleman. "To have over 100 student-athletes achieve a GPA of a 3.5 and above is another indication of the great work our coaching staff has done in recruiting great talent both academically and athletically. I would like to congratulate all the recipients for being selected for the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards."
 
There were a record breaking 19,646 student-athletes from 196 institutions recognized for the 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards. This is the most student-athletes being recognized since the inception of the awards program. Since the inception of the award's program in 2007-08, there has been a total of 147,622 student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements at the Division II level.
