STOCKTON, Calif. – The St. Mary's Women's Golf Team saved its best day for last, cutting another 11 strokes off its second round for a 295 in the final day of the NCAA West Regional at the Brookside Country Club.
The Rattlers finished the tournament in 11th place, tallying a three-day total of 918 (371-306-295). DBU, the top-ranked team in the nation, won the team title, while Faith Kilgore from Colorado Christian took home individual honors after tabulating a 207 (68-69-70).
Junior
Jordyn Wray (San Antonio) shot a season-low 71 to lead the way for the Rattlers in the final round. She and senior
Sofia Ruescas (San Sebastian de los Reyes, Spain) tied for 50th place after totaling 232 for the tournament.
Juniors
Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) and
Estelle Beck (Lakeway, Texas) shot identical rounds of 74 on Wednesday. Reed ended in a tie for 42nd at 230, while Beck was one stroke behind her at 231 to knot for 48th.
Freshman
Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio) matched her second-round score, carding a 76 for a three-round total of 237 and 62nd place.
The Rattlers finished the tournament fifth with 172 pars and were one of seven teams who tallied an eagle in the tournament, but struggled with birdies. Reed tied for third with 40 pars, while Wray notched 38 throughout the three days.
The tournament concludes the 2022 season for the Rattlers and wraps up the standout collegiate career of Ruescas.
