SAN ANTONIO – For the 20th consecutive season, the St. Mary's Women's Golf team hosted a home tournament in San Antonio and the Rattlers finished second after scoring a two-round total of 600.

The Rattlers, ranked 20th in the nation, placed behind 10th-ranked West Texas A&M which won the tournament after carding a 592, and defeated 18th-ranked Texas A&M Commerce which finished in seventh place.

Individually, senior
Sofia Ruescas (San Sebastián de los Reyes, Spain) tied for fifth-place after turning in a two-day total of 147 (72-75). The junior class of
Estelle Beck (Lakeway, Texas),
Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) and
Jordyn Wray (San Antonio) all posted identical scores of 151 to tie for 14th, while San Antonio senior
Megan Sells carded a 164 to finish in 46th position.

St. Mary's also had two competing as individuals in the tournament and both freshman
Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio) and sophomore
Maria Ferrer (Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico) shot two-day totals of 163 to knot for 43rd.

Megan Brown from Southwestern Oklahoma State was the individual champion after tabulating an even-par 144 (72-72) over the two days.Â

St. Mary's does not compete again until the final few days of March when they take place in the King-Alfred Spring Invitational hosted by UT Tyler on March 28-29.
