LAREDO, Texas – In the first competition of the spring, the St. Mary's Women's Golf team had a solid showing at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational, finishing in a tie for fourth place 21 shots off the lead.

The Rattlers tied with Lone Star Conference foe West Texas A&M with a +45 (299-297-313). DBU won the title, while Texas A&M International and Biola were sandwiched between.

Senior
Sofia Ruescas (San Sebastián de los Reyes, Spain) tied for second individually after carding a 220 (73-73-74) and finishing five shots off the lead. Ruescas made her move on the par 5 holes, leading the tournament with a 4.50 average and finishing six under par. In fact, the Rattlers team paced the field, shooting even par on the par-5 holes.

Junior
Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) ended four strokes behind Ruescas, tied for seventh with a three-round total of 224 (73-71-80).
Estelle Beck completed the tournament in a six way tie for 23rd after posting a 234 (77-75-82), while
Megan Sells was tied for 29th one stroke behind Beck (76-80-79) and Madalynn Trevino tied for 35th at 241 (83-78-80).
