SAN ANTONIO – Monica Dibildox earned her first individual victory on Tuesday as she fired a second-round 73 to help lead the St. Mary's Women's Golf program to the team championship at the 2021 Rattler Invitational at The Dominion Country Club.
The tournament victory is the first for the Rattler women since they won the El Cheapo Classic in Pueblo, Colorado on March 24-25, 2019.
Dibildox started the day one-under par and shot two-over par in the final round to claim top honors. She led the field with 26 pars over two rounds and was tied for third in the field with five birdies.
The Rattlers shot 306 in the final round to finish with a two-round total of 611, four strokes better than Texas A&M-Commerce who finished runner-up.
Estelle Beck followed up her first round 75 with a final round score of 79 to finish tied for sixth-place. Beck finished with 22 pars and three birdies.
After shooting a first-round 81,
Rebecca Reed trimmed seven strokes off her score in the final round, shooting a two-over 74, giving her a two-round total of 155 and a tie for ninth-place. Reed went 10 straight holes without a bogey in the final round.
Sofia Ruescas finished in 15th place after shooting 158 (78-80). The senior had 23 pars and two birdies in the tournament.
Jordyn Wray birdied her first three holes of the final round and went on to shoot 37 in her opening nine. Wray finished the back nine with a 43, giving her a final round 80. Wray finished in a tie for 23rd with a two-round total of 161.
Maria Ferrer bested her first round 87 with an 82 in the final round to finish with a 169 in a tie for 43rd.
Megan Sells finished tied for 45th with a 170. Sells was six strokes better in the final round, shooting 82.
St. Mary's will have a week off before participating in the MSU Invitational hosted by Midwestern State on March 15 and 16. The tournament will be played at the Wichita Falls Country Club.
