LAREDO, Texas – The St. Mary's Women's Golf team earned a third-place finish at the Jack Brown Memorial Invite as play concluded on Tuesday afternoon. The Rattlers finished with a three-round total of 955 (317-321-317) in their first tournament of the year.
St. Mary's led the field in par five scoring, averaging a score of 5.28 in three rounds. The Rattlers finished with 144 pars, second most in the tournament.
Individually,
Sofia Ruescas was the top performer as the senior finished tied for sixth. Ruescas carded a final round 78 for a tournament total of 236 (74-84-78). The senior was third in the field with 32 pars and seventh in birdies with four.
Rebecca Reed fired a final round 83 to finish in 11th place in her first tournament as a Rattler.
Jordyn Wray played her best golf of the tournament in the final round as the sophomore carded a 74, including three birdies. Wray finished with five birdies and an overall 15th place finish.
Starting the day in a tie for 24th,
Maria Ferrer worked her way up four places to finish in a tie for 20th. Ferrer shot 82 in the final round to finish with a 248 (88-78-82).
Monica Dibildox finished in 23rd place with a three-round total of 250 (83-80-87).
The Rattlers will have a two week break before hosting the Rattler Invitational on Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2 at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio.
