SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Men's Golf had two players recognized as 2020 PING Division II All-Americans on Tuesday, senior Emilio Gonzalez on the First Team and junior Ryan Dixon as an Honorable Mention.
Gonzalez, the San Miguel, Mexico native earns his third-straight PING All-American selection after finishing the shortened season ranked second in the region and fifth in Division II. Gonzalez earned six top five finishes in seven tournaments including a first-place finish at the Las Vegas Desert Invite. In 20 rounds, the senior held a 70.85 stroke average.Â
Dixon climbed up the rankings all season, finishing the year ranked seventh in the region and 22nd in Division II. The Blackhall Colliery, England native earned four top 10 finishes this season, including a runner-up finish at the Hilltopper Fall Classic. In what would be the final tournament of his junior season, Dixon finished in a tie for fourth at the Las Vegas Desert Invite. Dixon was second on the team in stroke average per round at 72.35.Â
Seven golfers from the Lone Star Conference in total made PING All-American teams, including two from Oklahoma Christian, and one each from St. Edward's, Midwestern State and Texas A&M-International.Â
