Day 3 flurry propels Women’s Golf to 5th at West Regional

DURANGO, Colorado — History nearly repeated itself as Women's Golf valiantly fought to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA West Regional on Wednesday at the Hillcrest Golf Club.

The Rattlers entered the final round tied for ninth before embarking on the second-best round of the tournament by any team, firing a final round 294.

Each Rattler posted their best scores of the tournament as Sofia Ruescas led the charge with a final round 69.

Maria Regina Gonzalez finished tied for seventh with an even-par 72 while Kelly Contreras posted a four-over par 76.

A final round 77 from Paige Weiss and a six-over 78 from Haleigh Jordan completed the scores for the Rattlers who ended the season with their eighth top-five finish.
