Gonzalez leads Rattlers to 2nd place finish at DBU Classic

DALLAS — A final round 76 from Maria Regina Gonzalez helped propel St. Mary's to a second place finish at the DBU Women's Classic on Tuesday.
 
The sophomore ended the tournament tied for third after shooting a 6-over par 222 over the three rounds.
 
Kelly Contreras posted a final round 79, finishing three strokes back of Gonzalez, placing tied for ninth place on the individual leaderboard.
 
Notching a top-15 finish was Paige Weiss who shot 12-over for the tournament while Sofia Ruescas carded an 82 and Ana Bonilla an 85 to round out the Rattler scores.
 
The Rattlers will now look towards the spring season as they seek a return trip to Nationals.
