Solid final round places Rattlers 7th at UIndy Invitational

CARMEL, Indiana — With temperatures in the low 80s, it was near perfect weather for the final round of the UIndy Fall Invitational at the Prairie View Golf Club. St. Mary's would finish the tournament in seventh out of 17 teams as Heartland Conference foe Dallas Baptist claimed first.
 
Entering the final round in seventh, the Rattlers maintained their level of play with Kelly Contreras improving on her first day score, carding a 73, putting her at a 147 for the tournament. Contreras would finish tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard.
 
Allison Howarth and Paige Weiss each duplicated their first round scores of 76 in the final round to finish the invitational shooting a 152. Howarth and Weiss finished tied for 23rd.
 
An impressive final round from Maria Regina Gonzalez helped catapult her to a top-40 finish as she ended her tournament tied for 39th.
 
Next, the Rattlers will travel to Goodyear, Arizona for the Western New Mexico Fall Invite that is set to begin on Sept. 18.
