Final round surge give Rattlers 4th place finish at NCAA Regional

STOCKTON, Calif. — Saving their best for last at the NCAA D2 Super Regional, the St. Mary's Rattlers surged to a fourth place finish after shooting a final round best, 292, at the Brookside Country Club on Wednesday.

Leading the way were Allison Howarth and Paige Weiss, who each carded a third round even-par 72. Howarth would move back into the top-10, finishing tied for eighth while Weiss secured a top-30 finish, tying for 27th on the individual leaderboard.

Entering the day tied for 15th, Kelly Contreras shot a three-over 75, giving her a top-15 finish for the tournament while a final round 73 from Maria Regina Gonzalez locked up a top-20 finish.

In the final round of her Rattler career, senior Haley Keller pieced together her best round of the tournament as she fired a five-over par 77.

The Rattlers season comes to an end after an impressive run which saw them finish ninth or better in every tournament played, including four second place finishes and a pair of tournament victories, the last coming in the Heartland Conference Tournament, as they captured the program's first conference title in 12 years.
