CANYON, Texas —
Allison Howarth now has her third straight Top 10 finish as she finished tied for eighth place after the final round of the Lady Buff Stampede Tuesday.
Howarth (RS-Fr., San Antonio) was consistent for each round of the two-day tournament, carding a 79 each day. Just three tournaments into her career, Howarth has quickly emerged as a key player for St. Mary's, leading the team in each round so far this season.
St. Mary's held at 12
th place for the 17-team tournament, carding a team score of 675. Colorado State-Pueblo remained in first place to win the tournament with a team score of 633 followed by Midwestern State who took second place and West Texas A&M who finished third with a team score of 643. Colorado State-Pueblo's Julie Sanchez took home the individual title after shooting a 74 and 76.
Bailey Furgeson (Jr., Newcastle, Calif.) was also consistent, shooting an 82 each round to tie for 27
th place followed by
Heather Wedige (So., San Antonio) who finished tied for 55
th place.
Daryn Petermann (Jr., Comfort, Texas) finished the tournament with a final score of 180 and
Gabriella Villarreal (So., Rio Grande City, Texas) finished with a 193 final stroke count.
The Rattlers play their last tournament of the fall season starting Mon., Oct. 14 at the Dallas Baptist Golf Classic in Dallas.
