FRISCO, Texas — Four St. Mary's University Women's Golfers were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team on Monday.
Sophomore
Brielle Burns (Houston), sophomore
Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.), sophomore
Sophia Perkins (Sydney, Australia) and junior
Taylor Wilczek (Anthem, Ariz.) were all honored on the prestigious team.
Burns, who was named the Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year, is pursuing a degree in engineering science and was also named to the LSC All-Academic squad.
Lefebvre is a two-time WGCA All-America Scholar selection and was named to the CSC Academic All-District team earlier this season. She is majoring in marketing.
Perkins, who is working toward a bachelor's degree in psychology, was also voted to the CSC Academic All-District team.
Wilczek caps her stellar third season with her second selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar team after earning First-Team All-America honors from the association. She is an exercise & sport science major.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are among the most stringent in college athletics and continue to demonstrate high-level academic achievements. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the season and have played in 50% of the regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year through the conference championship.
