STOCKTON, Calif. — The St. Mary's University Men's Golf team ended its fantastic season with a tough finish at the NCAA West/South Central Regional, ending in a tie for 15th place at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
The Rattlers, ranked eighth in the latest GCAA Coaches Poll, shot a three-round total of 883 (+19) after carding a 299 in the final round on Saturday. Western Washington (856) won the team title and will advance to the NCAA Championship, along with West Texas A&M (859), Cal State East Bay (864), Colorado Christian (867), Cal State San Marcos (867) and Cal State San Bernardino (868). Conrad Brown from Western Washington won individual medalist honors.
Sophomore
Guillaume Paquette (La Minerve, Quebec) was the top individual performer for the Rattlers, finishing in a 10-way tie for 32nd place with a two-over par 218. Paquette finished the three-day tournament with an even par round of 72, recording five birdies on the day.
Fellow sophomore
Elijah Galvan (Austin, Texas) was under par for the second-straight day, carding a 71 to finish the tournament tied for 56th place with 221 strokes (80-70-71/+5).
Senior Philip Hallström (Gävle, Sweden) had a rough back nine during the final round to drop into a tie for 73rd place after turning in a 78. He finished the tournament with 224 strokes (77-69-78), wrapping up a strong career with the Rattlers.

Kongpop Kaikaew (Rayong, Thailand) also golfed his final round in the Gold and Blue on Saturday, posting a round of 80 to finish tied for 91st place (74-74-80=228/+13), while fellow senior
Baptiste Touchard (Saint-Agathon, France) was one stroke behind him, concluding his great career in a tie of 93rd with 229 strokes (77-74-78/+14).
