ROCKWALL, Texas — For the fifth consecutive year, the St. Mary's University Women's Golf team had at least one golfer selected to the prestigious Lone Star Conference All-Academic team, and the Rattlers also had a pair honored on the All-Conference teams that were announced at the pre-championship dinner on Sunday evening.
Both
Brielle Burns and
Taylor Wilczek were honored on the five-member All-Academic team, while Burns was voted as the Newcomer of the Year to the league and to the Second Team, while Wilczek became a two-time All-Conference selection after earning First Team honors in 2026.
Burns is a sophomore from Houston in her first season with the Rattlers. She has six top-25 finishes this season and posted a perfect 4.00 GPA during the fall in engineering science. Burns has led the team in scoring in four of the nine tournaments, and Scoreboard powered by clipp'd currently has her ranked 82nd in the country. She is the first Rattler to win an individual award in the Lone Star Conference, and the first in school history to ever win Newcomer of the Year honors.
Wilczek, a junior from Anthem, Ariz., is currently ranked 13th in the nation and second among Lone Star Conference golfers headed into the LSC Championship on Monday. She has finished in the top 10 in five of the team's nine tournaments and has led the team in scoring five times. She also leads the team with four rounds shot in the 60s in 2025-26.
The Rattlers begin the LSC Championship on Monday at the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.
