DESTIN, Fla. — For the second straight day, the No. 18 St. Mary's University Women's Golf team shot the lowest round at the Emerald Coast Collegiate, leading to a second-place finish for the Rattlers.
St. Mary's fired a one-over par 285 in the third and final round, totaling 870 strokes for the tournament to finish 11 strokes behind Lone Star Conference rival UT Tyler. The Patriots' Lucy Kate Smith posted a final round of 71 for even par to win medalist honors at -1 (212).
Junior
Taylor Wilczek (Anthem, Ariz.) collected four birdies in the first five holes on Tuesday, ending the round with a two-under 69 to finish tied for ninth overall with 216 strokes (78-69-69/+3). It is only the second time in her StMU career where she's posted consecutive rounds in the 60s, joining her career-low round of 210 (75-69-66) at the Ladies National Preview Tournament on Oct. 7-8, 2024, in Boulder City, Nev.
Finishing one stroke ahead of Wilczek in eighth place is sophomore
Brielle Burns (Houston). Burns shot even par in the final 18 holes to end the three rounds with a score of 215 (75-69-71/+2). The 215 is a career-low tournament for Burns, taking eight strokes off her previous low of 223 from the MSU Fall Invitational on Oct. 21-22, 2025.
Freshman
Manon Verret (Toulouse, France) and sophomore
Sophia Perkins (Sydney, Australia) were two of the four athletes tied for 19th place at the tournament. Perkins fired a round of 71 on Tuesday to climb 10 spots on the leaderboard, while Verret matched her first round total with a 75, as both recorded 220 strokes. The total is a career-low by one stroke for Verret, and is one off Perkins' low of 219 from the Mercer Invitational when she golfed at Jacksonville.
Sophomore
Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) climbed eight spots on the final day to knot five others for 29th place with 225 strokes (78-73-74/+12). Lefebvre shot an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole on Tuesday, her first of the season, and the fourth of her career. She was one of only seven golfers in the 93-player field to post an eagle in the tournament.
The Rattlers return to Florida to wrap up the regular season on March 30-31 as they'll compete in the Lynn Invitational at Boca Woods.
