RICHARDSON, Texas - For the first time in his career, St. Mary's University freshman goalkeeper
Nichita Misac has been named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week.
Misac (Lisbon, Portugal) led the Rattlers to a 1-0-1 week, fueling an unbeaten week by making nine saves and registering a clean sheet against West Texas A&M. Misac's play kept the Rattlers in the hunt for a share of the regular season title heading into the regular season finale. He allowed just one goal in a 1-1 road draw against DBU before tying a career-high with six saves against WT. Misac has 10 wins and five shutouts as a true freshman.
He is the fourth Rattler to win an individual weekly award this season, joining Lewis Boney (Defensive, Sept. 14), Eduardo Fernandez (Offensive, Sept. 14), and Sebastian Poblete (Offensive, Oct. 5).
