5/7/2025 8:47:00 PM

AMARILLO, Texas — For the majority of the season, Division II collegiate golfers play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Due to inclement weather in the area throughout the beginning of the week, the St. Mary's University Women's Golf team and the other 17 teams in the NCAA West Regional Field were forced to play 18 holes on Monday and 36 holes on Wednesday, sitting around on Tuesday, hoping to play.

The Rattlers had a great second round on Wednesday morning at the La Paloma Course at Tascosa Golf Club, posting a four-over-par 288, and followed that up with a 299 (+15) in the final round to finish in eighth place. DBU and Midwestern State both shot a three-day total of 881 (+29), with the Mustangs winning on a playoff hole for the regional title. The Mustangs shot the lowest round of the tournament, 274, in the final round, climbing eight spots up the leaderboard.

Sophomore Savannah Dupre ended in a five-way tie for 10th place with her two-day total of 220 (74-72-74/+7). It is the 11th time in 18 career tournaments the Boerne, Texas, native has finished in the top 10, and it is the seventh time in 11 tournaments this season she's been the top Rattler.

In the final tournament of her stellar career, senior Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England) posted a 54-hole total of 223 (81-68-74/+10) to tie seven other players for 22nd place. It is the 24th time she's finished inside the top 25 at a tournament in 36 tournaments. In the 99th round of her career this morning, Kilbride posted her sixth round in the 60s with a 68, the third lowest of the entire tournament.

Sophomore Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) improved by one stroke each round to finish 15-over-par and in a five-way tie for 46th position. Lefebvre shot a 77, 76, and 75 (228) to close out her first season with the Rattlers. In eight tournaments this year, she posted four top-25 finishes. Lefebvre led the field with a five-under-par total on par-5s, averaging 4.44 strokes per hole on the long holes.

Taylor Wilczek, also a sophomore, totaled 231 strokes over the three rounds (80-72-79/+18) to end in a seven-way tie for 57th place. It marked only the second time in 10 tournaments this year she didn't place within the top 25.

Seniors Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland) and Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio) each golfed one round on Wednesday, closing out their careers with identical rounds of 76. The pair both fought through injuries to be with their teammates in the final tournament, showing the grit and determination they've been known for throughout their careers.

Midwestern State, DBU, West Texas A&M, Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Marcos will represent the West Region at the NCAA Championships.
