RICHARDSON, Texas — For the fourth time this season, a St. Mary's University Men's Golfer has won the Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week honors, but for the first time this year, the honor goes to junior
Baptiste Touchard.
Touchard, a junior from Saint-Agathon, France, recorded a birdie on three of his final eight holes and par on the other five, to erase a three-shot opening day deficit to win the Las Vegas Desert Classic by one stroke. Touchard finished the 54-hole tournament 12-under, shooting 204 (68-67-69) for the win. He is the first Rattlers golfer to record all three rounds in the 60s since Ryan Dixon did so at the 2022 LSC Championship.
The 20-team field featured 16 teams ranked within the top 50, including six of the top 10 clubs. The tournament also had 25 of the top 50 ranked individuals in the mix.
Teammate
Kongpop Kaikaew (Rayong, Thailand) has earned the weekly award three times this year. The Rattlers compete next in the Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls, March 24-25.
