RICHARDSON, Texas — It took a 37th hole, but St. Mary's Golfer
Orla O'Leary won the first tournament of her career, winning the title at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational (Feb. 3-4), helping the Rattlers win the team trophy. O'Leary carded a 75 in the first round entering the final day two shots off the lead. The senior fired a 77 over the last round to tie Texas A&M International's Kiara Montebon. The pair competed in a playoff hole on the 18th, where O'Leary powered a drive off the tee and two-put for par to win the individual title by one stroke.
It is the first weekly award for O'Leary and the first for the Rattlers. StMU will compete Feb. 17-18 at the UCO Southern Invite in Spring, Texas.
