RICHARDSON, Texas — The Lone Star Conference honored St. Mary's University Golfer
Kongpop Kaikaew on Thursday with the Men's Golfer of the Week honor after his victory at the Skip Wagnon Invitational.
Kaikaew, a senior from Rayong, Thailand, shot a 13-under 197 (68-63-66) on the par-70 Kicking Bird Golf Club, helping the Rattlers to the team title. It is the fourth time in his career that Kaikaew has posted par or better in all three rounds of a tournament, and his 63 from the second round ties for the second-lowest round in St. Mary's history and in the Lone Star this season.
This is the fourth weekly honor of Kaikaew's career, and the second this season for a Rattler, as
Guillaume Paquette (La Minerve, Quebec) won the weekly award after the team's first tournament of the fall.
