PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The No. 15 St. Mary's University Women's Golf team finished eighth at the Division II National Preview at the prestigious PGA National on Tuesday.
The Rattlers had a tough round on Tuesday, finishing with 325 strokes to drop five places on the leaderboard. Lone Star Conference rival DBU won the tournament with a three-round total of 904, while Lynn was second (912), and UT Tyler (913) placed third.
Clare Gimpel from Florida Southern won individualist honors with her 54-hole total of 223 (75-77-71/+7), defeating DBU's Ella Cheek and UTT's Karina Duran by one stroke.
St. Mary's sophomore
Brielle Burns finished 12th on the course, which will host the 2026 NCAA Championship, totaling 229 strokes (78-73-78/+13). It is the lowest 54-hole tournament in her career, bettering the 232 from the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational while she was at Illinois in 2024.
Junior
Taylor Wilczek (Surprise, Ariz.) posted a three-round total of 234 to tie for 24th place (75-77-82/+18). She tied for second in the 66-player field with nine birdies.
Fellow junior
Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) improved by four strokes over her second round total, carding an 80 on Tuesday to end in a tie for 41st place (76-84-80/+24). Freshman
Manon Verret (Toulouse, France) was one stroke behind Lefebvre, tying for 43rd with a total of 241 strokes (78-75-88/+25).
Freshman
Abbey Anderson (Austin, Texas) matched her opening round with an 85 on Tuesday, tying for 61st position with her three-round total of 252 (85-82-85/+36).
The Rattlers compete at the NCAA West Region Preview next week, beginning on Monday, Oct. 13, at the Pueblo Country Club in Colorado.
