RICHARDSON, Texas — For the second time this season, and the fifth time in 12 months, St. Mary's University golfer
Kongpop Kaikaew has been named the Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week.
Kaikaew, a senior from Rayong, Thailand, tied for individual medalist honors at the DBU Classic to wrap up the fall season. Kaikaew posted all three rounds below par (69-69-71) to finish with a seven-under 209 and lead the Rattlers to the tournament title. Over the fall season, Kaikaew entered the clubhouse under par in nine of 11 rounds and has been in the 60s six times.
He also earned Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 9 after winning the Skip Wagnon Invitational. Kaikaew has now won three tournament titles in his second year with the Gold & Blue (2024 Kimura Invitational). Sophomore
Guillaume Paquette (La Minerve, Quebec) has also been awarded weekly honors by the LSC this season after the team's opening tournament of the year in Wyoming.
The Rattlers next compete on Feb. 9-10 at the 2026 Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla., at St. John's Golf & Country Club.
