CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Runners-Up, St. Mary's University, had six golfers named to the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team on Monday.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of the student-athletes. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
All six Rattlers who competed in the minimum 50 percent of events were honored on the team in
Estelle Beck-Dixon (Lakeway, Texas),
Savannah Dupre (Boerne, Texas),
Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England),
Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland),
Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) and
Madalyn Trevino (San Antonio).
This is the fourth time Beck and Reed have been honored on the All-American Scholar Team, while Trevino earned her third award and Beck was awarded her second. O'Leary and Dupre both were on the team for the first time.
There were a total of 1,497 student-athletes recognized from 412 programs throughout the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA.
