Quick Hits

•    St. Mary's travels to Springfield, Missouri to take place in the Drury Tournament on April 6-7. The Rattlers face two teams each day, playing #4 Maryville and #12 Drury on Saturday and NAIA #4 Missouri Baptist and #17 Southwest Baptist on Sunday. The tournament features eight teams, though the Rattlers will not compete against Central Arkansas, Trevecca Nazarene or Texas Woman's.

•    The Rattlers finished second at the inaugural Lone Star Conference Championship. St. Mary's defeated Texas Woman's 20-5 in the semifinals before dropping a 20-5 decision to top-seeded DBU in the finals. 

•    The Rattlers are 0-1 against Maryville and 1-0 against Drury and this will be the first-ever meetings against Missouri Baptist and Southwest Baptist. A season ago, Maryville and StMU met in the national tournament, with the Saints winning 22-1. St. Mary's defeated Drury 13-9 in the opening tournament of the 2024 season where Alecka Brown was the player of the game after scoring 27 points. Isabel Soto was the partner stunts specialist of the game, while Riley Smith earned specialist honors for pyramids & tosses and Talisa Gomez was honored for jumps & tumbling.

•    In eight of the 11 games this season, the Rattlers have either had the lead or been tied after the first quarter. StMU is outscoring opponents 24-17 in the first quarter.

•    St. Mary's swept the Lone Star Conference Players of the Week after defeating Texas Woman's on Feb. 23. Alecka Brown was named Stunter of the Week, while M'Lynn Griego earned Tumbler of the Week. Brown scored 42 points, competing in both the partner stunts and jumps #7, the highest routines competed during the game against TWU.  For the second-straight week, Griego was named the Tumbler of the Game after competing in seven of the eight jumps and tumbling routines during the game. The Rattlers have now won three weekly awards as Isabel Soto was tabbed the first-ever Stunter of the Week after racking up 58 points at the DBU Patriots Classic.

•    The trio of All-Americans back from 2023 were all named Players to Watch by the Lone Star Conference in 2024. Sophomore Yanelle Nicholson (First-Team), Sanaa Johnson (Second-Team) and Alecka Brown (Honorable Mention) were all honored a season ago during the team's initial season of competition.

•    A total of 23 STUNT student-athletes were named to the inaugural Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll after the conclusion of the fall semester.  Both Sanaa Johnson and Courtney McClellan posted perfect 4.00 GPAs during the semester.
