SAN ANTONIO —
Alecka Brown, a member of the inaugural class of STUNT student-athletes from St. Mary's University, was named to the Spurs Hype Squad for the 2026-27 season.
Brown was named to the team after a lengthy tryout process. After submitting an application, applicants had 48 hours to learn and submit a choreographed video along with a video of skills/stunts. Those who advanced past that stage were invited to the final auditions in person. Brown will begin training camp in mid-August and begin performing at Spurs games – the first on Thursday, Oct. 8, in a preseason contest against the Atlanta Hawks.
"I'm excited, but not at all shocked Alecka has made the hype squad," said St. Mary's STUNT Coach
Jordan VanTimmeren. "Her talent and confidence in performing will carry her, and I'm excited to see her shine in this new environment."
Brown graduated in May from St. Mary's and was a three-time All-American for the Rattlers. She was named to the Lone Star All-Conference team each of the team's three years in the league and was a six-time selection to the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll.
