Quick Hits

•    The St. Mary's University STUNT team heads to Nashville, Tenn., to compete at its fourth-straight National Championship. The Rattlers have earned an at-large berth to the tournament all four seasons of existence and are looking for their first win.

•    The Rattlers face Maryville in the first round. The two teams did not play in 2026, but StMU is 1-2 all-time against the Saints. In the second round, the Rattlers will take on either #3 DBU or #13 Texas Woman's, as the two Lone Star Conference rivals are on the same side of the bracket with the Rattlers. StMU is 0-3 this season against the Patriots and 3-1 against the Pioneers. All-time, StMU is 0-11 against DBU and 11-2 against TWU.

•    St. Mary's had four seniors voted to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic team in Sanaa Johnson, Courtney McClellan, Sydnye Forde-Richins and Riley Smith. Johnson, Forde-Richins and Smith are three-time honorees on the team, while McClellan is a two-time pick.

•    The Rattlers also had seven student-athletes named to the All-Conference teams by the Lone Star, as Alecka Brown, Melina De Hoyos, Talisa Gomez, Izabella Grinnell and Sanaa Johnson earned First-Team honors, and Victoria Gutierrez and Courtney McClellan were named to the Second Team.

•    For the first time in school history, the Rattlers scored points on all three sections of routine seven in the fourth quarter when they did so against Texas Woman's in the first round of the Lone Star Championship. St. Mary's is 10-9-2 in routine seven in the fourth quarter this season, and eight times no points have been awarded.

•    Senior Courtney McClellan was named the final Lone Star Conference Stunter of the Week after helping the Rattlers score a school-record 30 points in the regular season finale win at Texas A&M-Kingsville.

•    Thirteen of the 35 points the Rattlers have won in the second quarter (pyramids & tosses) this season have come on routine four. St. Mary's is 13-4-1 on routine four, while they are 22-36-4 in the other seven routines.

•    St. Mary's swept the Lone Star Conference Athletes of the Week on March 3, as senior Sydnye Forde-Richins was named Tumbler of the Week and senior Sanaa Johnson earned Stunter of the Week honors.

•    Head Coach Jordan VanTimmeren put together one of the toughest schedules in the country this season. The Rattlers have faced eight teams ranked in the top-5 of their respective divisions, and 15 of the 20 opponents have been ranked inside the top-15.

•    St. Mary's remained No. 12 in the Division II STUNT rankings in the final regular season poll. The Rattlers were #10 in the Preseason polls, #18 on Feb. 18, #14 on Feb. 25 and have been #12 each of the last four weeks.

•    The Rattlers continue to rewrite the record book with the change in scoring format. This season, the Rattlers have posted the top-three point totals in school history, with 30 in the win at Texas A&M-Kingsville in the regular season finale, and 27 scored in both wins on March 1 against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas Woman's. All three move ahead of the 24 scored in last year's sweep over the Javelinas. At the Royal Rumble, the Rattlers and Concordia Irvine established a new record for combined points in a game with 55, shattering the old record of 33 from 2024 against Missouri Baptist (17-16).

•    A total of 19 Rattlers were named to the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll after the conclusion of the fall semester and both Sanaa Johnson and Courtney McClellan posted perfect 4.00 GPA's.
