CREVE COUER, Mo. – The St. Mary's University STUNT team took on a pair of nationally-ranked teams at the STUNT National Championship and dropped both games, but hit a new routine for the first time in school history and showed marked improvement throughout the year to end Year Two.

The #8 Rattlers lost to top-seeded Davenport 24-1 in the first round and were knocked out of the tournament with an 18-9 loss to #5 Concordia Irvine.

In the second quarter against the Panthers, the Rattlers called routine seven and successfully completed it in competition for the first time, but DU had fewer deductions to score the point. The lone point for the Gold & Blue came in the fourth routine of the fourth quarter as they tied during jumps and tumbling on routine three.

Against CUI, the two teams were extremely aggressive in their selections early. The Golden Eagles started quarter one with six and won the point, while the Rattlers called seven and won for the tie score. The teams tied number five, while CUI got the final point of the quarter after winning a challenge on incorrect counts.

The Golden Eagles stretched their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring the Rattlers 4-1 for the 7-3 lead and they went on to win 18-9 to end the StMU season with a 10-7 overall record.
