Before the Coin Flip

•    This weekend may be the most important in the young history of St. Mary's STUNT as two wins on Friday would cement the Rattlers as the Lone Star Conference Regular Season Champions and hosts of the inaugural Championship Tournament.

•    The Rattlers are 1-0 in Lone Star Conference play after defeating Texas Woman's 18-5 last Friday in the first-ever conference contest for the Gold & Blue.

•    St. Mary's swept the Lone Star Conference Players of the Week. Alecka Brown was named Stunter of the Week, while M'Lynn Griego earned Tumbler of the Week. Brown scored 42 points, competing in both the partner stunts and jumps #7, the highest routines competed during the game against TWU.  For the second-straight week, Griego was named the Tumbler of the Game after competing in seven of the eight jumps and tumbling routines during the game. The Rattlers have now won three of the four weekly awards as Isabel Soto was tabbed the first-ever Stunter of the Week after racking up 58 points at the DBU Patriots Classic.

•    St. Mary's is 2-0 all-time against UT Tyler, 0-1 against DBU and 3-0 against Texas Woman's. Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting against Trevecca Nazarene.

•    St. Mary's opened the 2024 season against three nationally-ranked clubs at the DBU Patriots Classic in Dallas. The Rattlers surrendered only one point in a 19-1 victory over Southern Nazarene before dropping back-to-back games on Friday against #2 teams in Oklahoma Baptist (24-0) and Oklahoma State (23-1). StMU bounced back for a 13-9 win over No. 10 Drury to close out the tournament.

•    The trio of All-Americans back from 2023 were all named Players to Watch by the Lone Star Conference in 2024. Sophomore Yanelle Nicholson (First-Team), Sanaa Johnson (Second-Team) and Alecka Brown (Honorable Mention) were all honored a season ago during the team's initial season of competition.

•    A total of 23 STUNT student-athletes were named to the inaugural Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll after the conclusion of the fall semester.  Both Sanaa Johnson and Courtney McClellan posted perfect 4.00 GPAs during the semester.
