DALLAS, Texas – Facing two of the toughest teams in the nation, the St. Mary's STUNT team competed tough but ended on the short side of the scoreboard, falling 24-0 to #2 Oklahoma Baptist and 22-1 to #3 Maryville in the team's first-ever STUNT National Championship.

The score was not indicative of what the Rattlers accomplished, taking on eight-time national championship qualifiers in Oklahoma Baptist in the opening round and three-time qualifiers Maryville in the second round.

St. Mary's had only minor deductions through the vast majority of the routines and were able to hit pyramid seven for the first time this year.

"I am ecstatic with our performance," said Head Coach
Jordan VanTimmeren. "We did awesome. We have 17 girls and they have way more, so my girls have to put a lot of heart and hard work into it. I told them today we are playing for ourselves, and I want them to be the star of their own show and I think they showed up and did that."
