Opening Tip
•   St. Mary's hosts the inaugural St. Mary's Tournament on Saturday, welcoming Southwestern Conference foes Texas Woman's and UT Tyler to town. The Rattlers have victories over both teams earlier this season and are looking to complete the season sweeps.
•   In the latest Division II rankings, St. Mary's is ranked seventh overall and third amongst Southwestern Conference teams. Oklahoma Baptist is the top-ranked team in the nation, whille DBU is 4th and Texas Woman's is eighth.
•   The Rattlers went 2-1 at the Oklahoma City Tournament two weeks ago. The Rattlers lost to host OCU, 16-7, before bouncing back to defeat TWU, 18-6 and Buena Vista, 15-2.
•   St. Mary's has done a great job of jumping out to the early lead. as they have only lost one routine in the last four games during the first quarter. The Rattlers are outscoring opponents 13-2 (one tie) in the first four routines.
•   NCAA Division II recently classified STUNT as an emerging sport for women. An emerging sport is a women's sport recognized by the NCAA that is intended to help schools provide more athletics opportunities for women and more sport-sponsorship options for the institutions, and also help that sport achieve NCAA championship status.
•   St. Mary's is one of seven new STUNT programs in NCAA for 2023, bringing the total to 24 NCAA Varsity programs with 16 at the club levels.
•   The Rattlers join DBU, Texas Woman's and UT Tyler from the DII ranks in Texas to offer the sport. All three schools compete in the Southwest Conference, along with Oklahoma Baptist.Â
•   StMU has eight student-athletes from San Antonio or neighboring towns and 18 of the 19 student-athletes hail from the state of Texas.
