SAN ANTONIO – Behind the strength of four individuals finishing in the top 15, the St. Mary's Women's Golf team placed second at the 21st-annual Rattler Invitational at the Dominion Country Club.

The Rattlers started the final day in second place and held on as four of the five shot par on the final hole to remain two shots in front of Arkansas-Fort Smith (923/+59) and five in front of Texas A&M International (926/+62).

Sophomore
Libby Kilbride (Sheffield, England) tied for second place with a three-round total of 224 (74-76-74). Kilbride led the field with 37 pars and tied the tournament lead by shooting -2 on par 5s. Her 224 also is tied for the eighth-lost 54-hole total in Rattler Invitational history.

Fellow sophomore
Orla O'Leary (Galashiels, Scotland) ended in ninth place after carding a 229 (75-78-76). It is the lowest tournament total for O'Leary, who shot a career-low 233 at the Redbird Fall Invitational while at Illinois State.

For the second-straight tournament, seniors
Estelle Beck (Lakeway, Texas) and
Rebecca Reed (Midland, Texas) finished in a tie. The pair each collected 234 strokes to end in a three-way tie for 15th with Yee Iamtrugal from TAMIU. Beck posted one of the four eagles in the tournament, recording a three on the par-5 seventh hole on Tuesday.

Senior
Jordyn Wray (San Antonio) tallied a 243 (77-86-80) to place 28th overall. She shaved six strokes off her second round with an 80 in the final round. Wray shot seven birdies over the two days, the most on the squad.

Sophomore Madalynn Trevino (San Antonio) and junior
Maria Ferrer (Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico) competed as individuals in the tournament. Trevino tied for 24th place with her total of 239, while Ferrer tied for 35th at 252.Â

West Texas A&M won the tournament with a three-round total of 887, the second-lowest 54-tournament total in Rattler Invitational history. The Lady Buffs total is behind only the 876 shot by DBU in 2020. WT also ties for the eighth-lowest single team rounds in tournament history with its back-to-back 295's. Gam Songprasert from WT was the individual medalist after turning in a 214, which is the third-lowest 54-hole total in tournament history.

The Rattlers next compete in the King Alfred Invitational, hosted by UT Tyler at the Cascades Golf Club, March 20-21.
