Opening Tip

•    St. Mary's returns home for the final time in January, hosting Angelo State on Thursday and UT Permian Basin on Saturday. The Rattlers play seven of the 10 games in January on the road before playing five of seven contests in February at home.

•    The win at UAFS on Thursday snapped a 16-game road Lone Star Conference losing skid for the Rattlers. It is the first road victory since Feb. 26, 2021 at Oklahoma Christian.

•    Gabby Elliott has scored at least 15 points in each of the last seven games, tying for the longest double figure scoring streak on the team this season. Tonia Bilic hit at least 10 in every game from Nov. 19 through Dec. 17.

•    Angelo State is the third nationally-ranked team on the slate this year for the Rattlers and the second in five games. The last win over a nationally-ranked team came against the Rambelles on Dec. 8, 2018, a 70-64 win when ASU was ranked #21 in the WBCA poll.

•    Last week's road trip was a tale of two games from beyond the arc, as the team sank nine on Thursday - one off the season high - shooting a season-best .474 and then went 0-for-11 on Saturday. It ended a 76-game streak by the Rattlers with at least one three-pointer, dating back to Jan. 2, 2020.

•    Senior Briley Perkins needs two more three-pointers to appear on the St. Mary's career charts. Jackie Woods (2011-14) currently sits in 10th with 122 makes.

•    Gabby Elliott is now the top-scoring freshman in the Lone Star Conference in league-only games. The San Antonio native is averaging 13.7 points per game in the 10 league tilts to rank 10th overall.

•    Junior Teanna Huggins has quietly put together some impressive numbers. She leads the team in assists (2.5/gm) and steals (1.9/gm) and is third in scoring (7.3/gm), rebounding (4.3/gm) and blocks (0.7/gm).
